Travels

Traveling is about new experiences and opening your eyes to a different lifestyle, different people, and, of course, different food.

One of our favorite parts of traveling is finding where the locals hang out. It’s easy to go on Trip Advisor or other sites and find the hotspots. But smart tourists, and definitely locals, stay away from those places. Especially when it comes to restaurants and bars.

Here, we’ll review some of our recent vacations and trips, share a bunch of images of what we did and saw, and make recommendations on places to eat and drink that you may not find on a top ten list.

Plus, if you’ve been to some of the same places, don’t forget to tag us on social media or comment on the post. We might even feature you on our site or on social media!

Favorite Places

We’re lucky to live near the greatest city in the world, which Jess gets to commute to every day and that makes her so happy. Plus, she gets to see some pretty weird shit on her journey to and from work.

And yes, New York City is definitely one of our favorite places, but we’ve got a bunch of others too.

Like Cape May, where Jess’s parents have a nearby summer house. Or Atlantic City, where we used to frequent way more in our 20s than we do in our 30s.

But there are many other hidden gems, such as Morristown and Montclair, Philadelphia (sports teams aside), and others.

Recent Vacations

Besides our favorite places, we’re always looking for new places to see. Recently, we’ve been to Key West, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.

Here, you’ll find a recap of our trips, things we saw, things we recommend, and places we’d steer clear of if we were going again.

Plus, we’ll let you know about any discounts, specials, or events that you should see if you can.

We try to find the places and sights that are a little off the beaten path, so we don’t have the same trip as the thousands of others who have gone to the same place. And we’ll make recommendations on the overall feel of a city as well.

Discover our recent vacations, what we thought of each spot, and our recommendations!

Hiking and Camping

Growing up, Mike, his brothers, and a few friends from the neighborhood, would go ‘exploring’ along the creek that ran through his neighborhood.

Of course, this included “The Hideout” and using spray paint to ignite fallen branches.

Luckily, everyone survived. And, just as luckily, we’ve matured in our ways of hiking and exploring.

Now, Jess, Mike, and Lucy search for new places to hike, new ways to explore, and some of the gear we’ve picked up along the way.

Plus, join us in our adventure as we try camping for the first time.

Check out some of our favorite trails and campsites below and share your own experiences!
