Mike: Holidays are when you get to spend time with friends and family, sharing laughs and good times, and try to decorate your house so that everyone else is impressed enough to compliment you.
Jess: That’s not why we decorate.
Mike: Liar.
Jess: It’s not. We decorate to make the house look good and to boost our moods.
Mike: You don’t love the compliments you get?
Jess: Of course, I do. I wish you’d compliment the decorations more.
Mike: I helped do them. I can’t compliment my own work. That’s egotistical.
Jess: Well…
Mike: See, you do love it. I like to watch you in action, your brain scanning, imagining the different options, doing something and realizing it’s not the way you imagined it would be and then starting all over again.
Jess: It’s like a puzzle. Trying to find the perfect combination. Sometimes it’s just trial and error.
