Why hello there. We’re Jess and Mike, the O’Briens. Pleasure.
We’re a couple 30-somethings raised in the Garden State (the birthplace of the fist pump you not-so-secretly love so much), who found love while working in an old man’s sports bar.
We’re your new traveling, hiking, crafting, beer-and-bourbon-swilling, not-always-politically-correct carnivorous friends.
No kids here–though they’re definitely on the agenda. For now, it’s us and our affectionate, goofy, genius (no lie) chiweenie-Boston terrier mix.

Spotlight on the hottie!
We’d talked about starting a blog on and off for a couple years.
It mostly came up during long car rides home from visiting friends and family or over dinner as we shared a bottle of wine (or had sipping tequila at our favorite Mexican restaurant).
We’d brainstorm ideas on what to write about, which recipes we’d share, which places we’d talk about.
Mostly, it came from the fact that we thought we had more to offer than just grinding it out. After all, we’re quasi-relate-able. At least Jess is and she’s rubbed off on Mike after more than 11 years together.
We want to share our journey because there are so many people out there struggling, just like us, facing the same challenges, enjoying the same hobbies, and loving this journey (for the most part).
